How Do I Get to the Venue?

What Time Should I Arrive?
Doors open at 1:30pm.
Where Should I Park?
We’d prefer you Metro or walk but if you’re driving, the rink sits atop a 24-hour, eight-story parking garage at the Ballston Mall. Lucky you!
Does Parking Cost Anything?
Up to 3 hours – $1
3-4 hours – $3
4-5 hours – $5
5-6 hours – $6
6-7 hours – $7
7-8 hours – $8
Max – $10.
Can I Bring a Date?
Friends and family may be able to bring a +1. We’re limiting this to long-term significant others. Everyone must be RSVP’d / have a ticket to enter.
How Long Does the Wedding Last?
Doors open at 1:30pm and big hockey players kick everyone out at 11:00pm.
Stairs, Standing and Walking Can be Hard on You?
Absolutely no problem. There is an elevator to get from floor 1 to floor 2. The rink has wheelchair seating and bleachers. There are also chairs on the landing above the rink and in the reception area. Let us know your needs and we’ll be sure to make everything comfortable – you’re not putting anyone out by mentioning it.
What Should I Wear?
August in DC (hot) + ice rink (cold) + skating & dancing = ??? Here’s the easy solution: look good but dress comfortably in WARM layers. The bride will be wearing a knee length dress, with thick tights. The groom could easily be shirtless. There will be mascots. Dress in something you like but leave the suit or formal dress at home. Seriously though, bring extra layers for the 6 hours in the rink.
What Should I Bring?
Yourself. Kids. High fives. Also be sure to bring your ticket to the event.
What Should I NOT Bring?
Please don’t bring gifts, we won’t have a place to collect them at the wedding. Click here for our registry if you would like to give us a gift.
Leave the car if you can – everything is walkable & two blocks from Metro.
Are Pets Cool Anywhere?
The Westin is a pet friendly hotel. The rink not so much (booo) but if you had to bring a pooch you could get to your car easily from the rink.
Are Kids Cool Anywhere?
They must be kept on leash at all times, but yes. We’re highly encouraging kids of all ages to come. It’s the type of event they’re gonna love.
Can I Get My Eat and Drink On?
We’ll have special cocoa, beer and wine – open bar. We’re working on a signature drink, too. There will also be snacks, deserts and a full buffet.
